Sports Massage
Massage is one of the earliest forms of physical therapy. There are many benefits of regular sports massage, a few of which include:
  • Prevention of muscle and tendon Injuries
  • Reducing the strain and discomfort of training and chronic strain patterns, allowing a quicker return to training
  • Enabling you to recover more quickly from myofacial injury with less chance of chronic problems returning.
  • Enhancing a preventative approach to athletic training, whereby soft tissues are free of trigger points and adhesions, thus contributing toward the improvement of peak neuromuscular functioning.

Whenever a person is involved in any form of training, the aim is to systematically increase the intensity, and thereby subject the body to gradual and controlled overuse. It is this overuse which may often create problems and imbalances in the soft tissues, if these are ignored and allowed to become chronic, they will not only hinder your rate of improvement, but also in many cases your performance may well suffer and ultimately you may be susceptible to developing more serious conditions.

The Motive8 team can provide sports massage either as a home visit or as part of a training or rehab session. Whether you are suffering from muscle soreness, a niggling muscular pain, are preparing for an event and wish to avoid muscle soreness developing or to prepare you for optimal performance, Motive8 can provide the necessary sports massage treatment.

Massage can be pre-event, post event, or as a fundamental part of the training regime, to keep the body at its physical peak at all times.
