Pilates
Pilates is essentially a mind-body centering technique that emphasizes the importance of beginning movement from a "central core" of stability, namely the pelvis and lower back region.

Many traditional Pilates exercises are often too advanced for those who are new to Pilates and for those who do not have the basic concept. At Motive8 we offer a modified Pilates session. This is the result of modifying traditional Pilates exercises through using knowledge on current research, physiotherapy treatments and clinical experience. The Pilates exercises are aimed at reactivating deep abdominal muscles, that are often underused, back to their full function.

Modified Pilates can be focused more specifically at those who suffer from back/neck pain, but the benefits are not restricted to only those who suffer from those injuries. At Motive8 you can enjoy a one-to-one Pilates session with a fully qualified instructor. These sessions ensure that your technique is perfect, thereby guaranteeing maximum benefit whilst having exercises tailored specifically to your needs.

The exercises are mat based and are changed progressively in accordance with the individuals level of control. This provides you with a structures and enjoyable programme.
Pilates is a relaxing and centering technique where the basic posture principles can be transferred to both training and everyday life, essential for those looking to improve their physical wellbeing.
