Computer Telephony Integration CTI is a means of saving time and promoting efficiency by integrating the desktop PC with the telephone. Difficult to remember numbers are often dialled whilst trying to look at a database and the telephone keypad at the same time sometimes leading to wrong numbers. With CTI you simply point and click the number from your desktop database and your Siemens Hipath 3000 system connects the call, eliminating wrong numbers and the need to maintain separate Speed Dial lists.
For incoming calls it is possible to index the record of the calling party prior to answering (Screen Popping). If the CLI is available, by reference to a database, calls can be routed to the appropriate person or group of people (Skills Based Routing). Calls can also be routed according to a condition on a database without interruption of ringing. For instance accounts marked stop; route to Financial Controller.
