Who is behind the Brightel Datanet team?
Managing director and Brightel founder Chris Shanks Ieng MIEIE is a professional engineer who has spent all his working life in the industry. Prior to starting Brightel in 1989 he was involved with public telephone exchanges, and has worked on large projects for some of the nations major telecomm companies. His last position being with Ericsson as Applications Manager.
Chris has for many years played an active part in the Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce and was the president between 2001 and 2003.
What sort of projects does Brightel Datanet undertake?
Well we don’t actually use the cliché “no job is too big or too small” but it sometimes seems that way having installed telephone systems from just 4 extensions up to 250 and data cabling projects from a handful up to 2000 sockets. Because the Siemens range of telephone systems is so scalable and versatile we have for 10 years specialised in that product and its applications rather than a specific market sector.
We undertake many projects in the public sector, including for schools, hospitals and councils.
