Filon Monarch barrel vault rooflights are fabricated from high quality robust and shatter resistant Filon GRP sheeting. They are out of plane rooflights projecting above the roof, one of the primary Health and Safety Executive recommendations to reduce risks of people falling through. When fixed they fully comply with the HSE non-fragile impact tests specifications. Where roofs are subject to extensive foot traffic, utilisation of Filon SupaSafe's exceptional strength and durability qualities for the outer sheet is recommended.
Filon Monarch GRP factory assembled barrel vault rooflights can be used along the ridge, down slope (ideally ridge down), on curved roofs greater than 25m radius and on flat roofs, in continuous runs if required. They are ideal for very low pitched roofs and for use with standing seam and secret fix roofing systems.
The product's unique versatility makes it suitable for new build or refurbishment projects. On new build, Filon Monarch rooflights may be used with raised insulated curbs above the general roof plane. On refurbishment projects, supporting curbs are generally in line with roof sheets. To comply with HSE non-fragile requirements, it is essential for Filon Monarch to be fixed to curbs with fasteners incorporating 29mm dia washers at centres not exceeding 450mm or 19mm dia washers at maximum 300mm centres.
Standard width rooflights are available to suit openings 500-508mm, 800mm, 1000-1016mm and 1200mm in nominal lengths
of 4m, which can be butt jointed on site to form continuous runs.
