Profiled translucent GRP rooflights manufactured by Filon Products set new standards in quality, consistent thickness and profile definition. Sheets incorporate UV light stabilisers to prevent yellowing and provide diffused natural daylight without glare or shadows. Evenly dsitributed daylight is highly beneficial for people in factories, offices, warehouses, sports halls and other lage buildings.
Over 800 profiles are available matching most UK and European metal and fibre cement sheets, allowing Filon GRP rooflights to be easily accommodated within the roof and cladding design. Normal weights are 1.83kg/m2, 2.44kg/m2 and 3.06kg/m2, with heavier weights available in most profiles and fire grades up to 4.5kg/m2. Three fire retardant grades conform to the rigorous demands of BS476 Parts 3,6 and 7. Fire Tests.
To meet the stringent requirements of the Health and Safety Executive, Filon Products manufactures GRP sheets to be non-fragile Class C and Class B in compliance with HSE requirements detailed in ACR(M)001:2005 "Test for Fragility of Roofing Assemblies". GRP is a very durable and non corroding product and will maintain its non-fragility status for many years dependant on specification, fixings used and the environmental conditions that prevail. For GRP rooflights to be non-fragile for the expected life of the roof use Filon Supasafe.
Long term weather surface protection is provided by a UV Resistant polyester film applied to the weather surface. Independent accelerated weather tests classified the product as meeting the highest standards.
