Filon Supasafe Non-fragile GRP Rooflights for the Life of the Roof

Filon Supasafe is a GRP rooflight of exceptional strength and flexibility, meeting the demanding standards set by the Health and Safety Executive for non-fragile roofing panels. The strength is created by the application of three reinforcement layers and their method of incorporation during manufacture. The flexibility is produced by controlling the sheet thickness to obtain good profile matching with adjacent profiled metal sheets when fixing, thereby forming well fitting watertight joints.

The extra reinforcement creates a rooflight equivalent in strength, impact resistance and durability to 0.7mm thick steel sheeting. Tested in accordance with ACR[M]001:2005 "Test for Fragility of Roofing Assemblies", Filon Supasafe is rated as Class B "non-fragile", the same as 0.7mm steel panels. This was further confirmed by carrying out comparable drop tests to the point of destruction.

Filon Supasafe GRP rooflights are designed to remain non-fragile for the expected life of the steel roof.

Filon Supasafe sheets are manufactured in three fire retardant grades :

Filon Grade 300 which is rated AB Class 3 under BS476 Parts 3 and 7.

Filon Grade 104 which is rated AA Class 1 under BS476 Parts 3 and 7.

Filon Grade 101 which is rated AA Class 1 under BS476 Parts 3 and 7, and which is

designated Class 0 when tested under BS476 Part 6.

The impressive qualities of Filon Supasafe ensures it can be fixed and sealed with
confidence to the same specification as the matching profiled metal sheeting.
