Ms Julie Cox has been appointed to the post of Finance Director & Company Secretary of Filon Products Ltd. as from the 1st October 2005.

Julie has been with the Company for over 25 years and her background is in finance and personnel. The appointment is in recognition of the excellent work she has carried out in a demanding environment, plus the vital contribution she will make to the successful operation of the Company in the future.

Filon Products are now fully operational having completed successfully their moved to larger premises, which will allow the company to expand to meet the many and varied challenges of the future.

The new production plant is significantly more efficient and flexible, and will be a major asset to the continued improvement in service and quality demanded by customers.

Holger Wassink has been appointed to the post of Operations Manager. This new appointment is seen as a key component in moving the company forward and assisting in developing both new and its existing markets.

Holger is new to the company and has extensive experience in Operations Management, which has been gained in the "just in time" and demanding world of the automotive industry. He states "My objective is to implement change by introducing new tools and techniques, which will achieve further growth of this long established company".

Les Williams has been promoted to Development Manager due to the expanding requirement for new and improved products to meet building industry needs and new legislation.

Les has been with the Company for a significant number of years and has a wide experience of the building industry and its many applications. This background will ensure that the new and improved products developed by Filon, will meet the ever increasing demand from industry and legislation.

Filon Products are pleased to announce the promotion of Derek Jones to the post Tecnaflex Product Manager, where he will manage the promotion and expansion of the new Tecnaflex Flat Roofing System recently developed by the Company.

Derek has been with Filon Products for over 20 years and has a wide experience of GRP and its applications. This knowledge will help him to push forward the implementation of the Tecnaflex program across the UK, developing a network of specialised contractors, and assisting Filon's sales force on specifications of the Tecnaflex flat roofing system.

Ron Allen - Managing Director - stated that Filon Products Ltd. have moved to larger premises due to outgrowing their previous site, where the Company had operated for the last 47 years.

The new premises will allow the Company to accommodate its expanding business and meet the requirements of its customers by the elimination of restrictions that had applied at Streetly, Sutton Coldfield.

The move has allowed the Company to upgrade its existing plant to accommodate the ever changing market demands, and to provide the service and quality expected by its customers.

Filon Products have been awarded "Company Best Prepared for Export 2004" by Trade Partners UK. The award is given to the company who have achieved the best program of research, training and language translations for an effective export marketing strategy.

The award was presented on behalf of Filon Products to David Hathaway, Filon's Director of Sales, by Sir Steven Brown, Chief Executive of UK Trade and Investment UK, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham.

Rooflight Manufacturers, Filon Products Limited, are pleased to announce that David Hathaway has been appointed to the role of Director of Sales.

David's new role will include his existing sales and marketing duties but now takes on a wider brief to move the company forward to it's next stage of development.

Filon Products Limited are pleased to announce that Eric Burton has been appointed to the role of Commercial Manager to more fully reflect his areas of responsibility.

Eric has been with the Company for over 40 years and was a member of the original management buyout in 1994. Eric is well known throughout the roofing industry and his abilities, knowledge and experience will be fully utilised by Filon in this expanding role as the new 2002 management buyout team takes the company forward.

Announcing a new phase in the development of Filon Products, one of the UK's largest rooflight and grp materials manufacturer, new Managing Director Ron Allen said how proud he was to be leading an established management team which will maintain growth and continue to build on Filon's successes.

Former MD Chris Pearce, who lead a management buyout in 1994, Eric Burton and Nigel Atkinson, have now released their holding to the current management team at Filon, who between them have many years of experience at Filon and stress that it is "business as usual", with established commitment to service and quality. Eric Burton will continue with his existing role in the new Company and retiring Technical Manager Nigel Atkinson will also be on hand to assist and advise the new team.

Chris Pearce will continue in a consultancy role while retaining the many links between Company and the various trade organisations which it is strongly related to.

Ron Allen commented: "It is a tribute to the Company, its staff and products that people who have worked here for many years were prepared to show their trust by investing in a Company which is getting bigger and stronger. We intend to introduce new products while maintaining the quality and reputation of our established lines. Our customers can only benefit from this new and exciting step forward".
