Filon SupasaFe at Liverpool Football Training Ground

Liverpool Football Club were looking to upgrade their training facilities and required a covered area over a new artificial five-a-side football pitch, which would provide full daylight through the roof and have the sides of the building exposed to the elements.



Filon SupasaFe was chosen due to its unique strength, excellent light transmission capabilities and it met all the specific requirements needed by the club, which were :

  • Provide good light transmission of
  • 85%.
  • Be fully compliant with the CDM and
  • HSG33 specifications.
  • Achieve a Class B non-fragile assembly under the new ACR(M)001:2000 test for
  • fragility of roofing assemblies.
  • Easily cleaned without the danger of a person falling through the roof.
  • Have high impact strength to resist potential damage during matches.
  • Achieve the specified values for wind loading and snow loading.
  • Equal in strength and durability to 0.7mm profiled steel sheets and installed to
  • the same specification.
