Filon Fixsafe - The New Internal Fixing System for Profiled Roof Sheets and Rooflights

Filon Fixsafe is a innovative new fixing system, jointly developed by FILON Products and Letchworth Roofing, which radically improves safety when replacing profiled roof and rooflight sheeting during repairs and maintenance to existing roofs. The Fixsafe system not only provides high safety for the operators, due to being carried out from below, but offsets high costs of roof staging, safety netting or external scaffolding.

Figures published by the Health and Safety Executive show that falls though fragile roof materials equate to nearly a quarter of the fatal accidents in the construction industry. The Fixsafe system has been developed to address this problem and will play a major part in reducing this statistic, plus it brings peace-of-mind to employers and building owners when repair work is required.

The essential elements of Filon Fixsafe are :

Safety First - The Fixsafe system has been designed to allow roof profile sheets or

rooflights to be replaced from below, eliminating the need to access fragile roofs.

Save Lives and Money - By removing the requirement for costly safety netting, roof

staging or external scaffolding, on-site time is reduced and access equipment

costs minimised.

Disruption Minimised - The speed and ease with which roof repairs can be carried

out using the Fixsafe system brings an important advantage to building occupants,

with no need to accommodate internal netting - and reduced intervention by roofing

operatives or maintenance staff.

HSE Compliant - The Health & Safety Executive has responded positively to the

introduction of the Fixsafe system as a means of allowing those involved in repairing

fragile roofs to work fully in compliance with Regulation 9 of the Working at Height

Regulations 2005.

A Complete System - The Fixsafe system comprises specific GRP replacement sheets

to match popular asbestos and fibre cement profiles, together with patented fixsafe

fixings to allow installation to be carried out from below.
