Acell’s new process consist in moulding an SMC sheet to the Acell foam during the manufacturing / moulding process resulting in a composite structure made in one production step. A full size door blank is produced in a 6 minutes cycle time.

The SMC (Polyester skin) flows into the open cell structure of the Acell Foam, and provides a mechanical bond which:

• Eliminates de-lamination of the skin from the core

• Provides a very stable product when exposed to heating/cooling cycles

• Provides a Monolithic Composite Structure without the need of a glue line and assembly of parts
