Sovereign Harbour Marina. Eastbourne. BN23 5UZ
The Royal Sovereign Light Tower is unique to England’s south coast. It is a light tower (as opposed to a light house) that was built in the 1970’s to mark the shallow reefs that are a danger to local shipping and it replaced earlier light ships.
Our voyage takes you from Sovereign Harbour 5.9 miles out into the English Channel
to this remarkable structure which can be seen on the horizon from the seafront.
While
the boat circles the tower, your personal guide will explain to you the interesting
history of how it was built and how it works, while allow you time to take photos
of the structure and the marine bird life that inhabit it.
Note : Due to its exposed location please be prepared for possibly rougher sea conditions
that those found on our inshore coastal trips.
