- We provide a 15 year certified warranty underwritten by the manufacturer
- We provide a drawing showing the location & numbers of all installed sockets
Data cabling, also known as structured cabling has for some years been the standard method of cabling for both voice and data.
Two or more sockets are usually installed in the proximity of each work area. Sockets can be either floor or wall mounted or a combination of both. All cables, where visible and often sockets are installed in trunking. Sockets are labelled and connected to patch strips, labelled with the same numbers as the sockets, in a conveniently located central point know as the patch or comms cabinet. In a large building or campus site there will be a patch panel for each floor or area.
The comms cabinet contains a switch connected to the computer network LAN and patch strips labelled with extension numbers connected to the Siemens telephone system. Some of the Hipath 3000 telephone system variants mount directly into the comms rack creating a tidy environment and reducing the need for and consequently the cost of installation cabling.
By means of a patch cord any socket in the building can be patched without tools to any extension or to the computer network. This great flexibility enables organisations to make considerable savings by enabling them to facilitate their own moves and changes.
