you didn’t deserve it

I don’t know why I keep coming

you don’t deserve it

I've brought fresh flowers

my favourite roses

not that you knew

you never bought flowers for me

Diane’s at college now

doing well

not that you’d care

you never liked her

Alan’s here too

took a day off work

a proper job

not like you had

we’re in a new house now

one with no shouting in it

we used to love you, you know ...

but you didn’t deserve it

more poems

playing happily

and never will

you didn't deserve it

the card

little red magnets

cursing softly

that's not living

that's despair

barely touching

the faintest of whispers

so much

all my reasons

that's why she's here

who did that to you

already dead
