Supply Chain Management
The increasing adoption of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) has focused the need for effective Supply (or Demand) Chain Management to ensure that the potential to be derived from these construction methodologies is optimised. SCM is a critical business process that looks to effectively manage both the flow (upstream and downstream) and interface of information, materials and activities between budget holders, constructors and producers throughout the project lifecycle. HAMSON Partnership Limited is able to combine strategic and operational experience in both SCM and MMC to establish and facilitate effective and integrated supply chains in order promote project aims and add value throughout the chain.
Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)
HAMSON Partnership Limited has particular experience in the development, design, specification and implementation of MMC and OSM through a range of innovative components and/or whole project solutions within a variety of sectors. These range from sports halls, educational units, car parks and residential solutions through to modular railway platforms, lightweight floor decks and wall panels. The inception and design stage of any project provide the project team with the greatest ability to influence sustainability performance - a key focus being an identification of those construction materials and methods that add value. We work as, or part of, an integrated project team contributing to conceptual schemes, and throughout the project procurement lifecycle, in order to exploit and apply the benefits of MMC against the project brief.
Sustainability & Option Appraisals
Questions and challenges relating to the achievement of business goals and in particular sustainability objectives need to be an inherent component of any robust Business Case. The preparation of Sustainability and/or Option Appraisals will enable an objective evaluation of benefits and impacts to be considered and measured against business goals and/or whole life project objectives - for example the adoption of MMC compared to traditional methods. Our Consultancy teams can prepare and populate appraisal models for particular processes, projects, and/or products in order to contribute to the decision making process.
Product Process Management
Innovation in sustainable construction provides significant opportunities for an array of building products and components. Ensuring such products are efficient, add value and optimise functional performance is central to meeting the needs of the business. Working with suppliers and manufacturers HAMSON Partnership Limited can assist in the development and management of the product process from inception through to technical design, specification and approvals, fabrication and site implementation.
Value Management
Value Management is concerned with value not cost - it is a focus on achieving the optimum balance of benefit relative to cost and risk. Our consultancy teams work closely within project teams in order to facilitate greater understanding of business needs and aims with a focus on evaluating and optimising creative and innovative potential together with collective ownership of solutions - these being key enablers within MMC projects.
Process Project Management
The adoption of robust and controlled process and project management models is vital for those who commission, manage and work on projects. Project success is dependent on a transparent and organised process model to ensure that the intended product is successfully delivered. These core attributes are particularly essential to projects that incorporate innovative solutions and/or MMC. HAMSON Partnership Limited can assist with the analysis, design and enablement of business and project processes to manage and optimise benefits. We bring together an integrated team of experienced consultants with a broad skill set and successful track record in the delivery of both diverse and innovative projects.
Whole Life Costs
WLC is concerned with understanding, evaluating and managing long-term asset value. In simple terms this means a focus on costs through an assets life-cycle - namely design and construction, operation and maintenance and ultimately disposal. Sustainability and the measurable value placed on this within any particular project are inherent to the process of WLC. HAMSON Partnership Limited have significant experience of preparing reliable and accurate WLC data as part of our extensive cost management consultancy and as a consequence are well placed to assist Clients in understanding and realising long term benefits and gains from sustainable projects.
