Adur and Worthing CAB is a registered charity reliant on
local people who volunteer as advisers, trustees, receptionists
and administrators.
Volunteers remain the core of the Bureau, without them there
would be no Citizens Advice Bureau in Shoreham. There is a high
demand for our service and we are always looking for:
Advisers
Our volunteer advisers are highly qualified, and give at least 6 hours of their time a week to Shoreham CAB. Each advice session is supervised by a Supervisor, who provides guidance and support and ensures that the high CAB standards are maintained.
The Generalist Advisers course is a combination of study, courses, observation and interviewing under the supervision of our Guidance Tutor, and takes about a year to complete. We start courses four times a year in partnership with Lancing CAB.
Trustees
Seven local people are trustee board members of the charity. We are looking for new trustees, particularly those with financial skills or who can help with fundraising. Please write to the Bureau Manager if you are interested.
Receptionists, administrators and IT staff
Our support workers are all volunteers, each doing crucial work for the Bureau. Their tasks include filing, clerical work, welcoming clients to the bureau, arranging appointments, updating our information system, maintaining our database, keeping statistics and organising our vast array of leaflets. We have a computer trainer and computer support, but are always looking for more people to help us maintain and use our computer network better.
If you are interested in volunteering at Adur and Worthing CAB, please write to us at Pond Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, BN43 5WU.
