Case Study 3 - Roger French

Large 5 bedroom house in Hove occupied by Roger French and extended family.
The Problem
The house was served by an old 2 line analogue telephone system. In addition there were 5 more lines serving alarms, fax, computer and Sky digibox for television pay per view.
The requirement was to extend the digibox system to other areas, upgrade Internet access and at the same time rationalise what had become quite a complex of disparate lines and equipment.
The Solution
Brightel Datanet installed a Siemens Hipath 3350 with one ISDN line, 14 digital, 2 analogue and 2 Integrated Cordless extensions. For the computers a Belkin broadband wireless router was installed along with wireless cards for each computer. ADSL broadband was procured and added to one of the lines.
The number of lines was cut down from seven to 3. Costs were further reduced through use of BT Business Plan. The three main house and fax telephone numbers were retained as DDI numbers on the ISDN line. The fax and Sky digibox were connected as analogue extensions.
