Richlite is a giant is the world of countertops in America, but is a brand new venture here in the UK. As one of the first certified dealers and fabricators of Richlite work surfaces, we are very proud to fabricate, supply and fit a range of products as rich as its company's history.
Richlite's unique paper surfaces brings a soft and comfortable ambience to a room that's rarely achieved through cold, hard stone or laminate surfaces. It is an attractive, durable, long-lasting material that develops a beautiful patina over time and works with any design tastes. Richlite is made primarily of 100% FSC certified paper. The paper is treated with phenolic resin, then pressed and baked to create solid sheets. Richlite is Green Guard certified for children and schools (the highest possible rating) with no detectable level of off gassing. Richlite® is different in a natural and better kind of way. The same material has been used for decades by the aerospace industry for tooling, the marine industry for fiberglass reinforcement and the action sports industry for outdoor skate ramp surfaces. It's beautiful, unquestionably durable and will last for years.

Why Richlite?

It's unique in that it literally grows on trees, produced out of recycled paper products and environmentally sustainable materials, unlike stone worktops quarried out of permanent holes in the ground.
The material is made from pulp derived from certified managed forests in North America. The company is committed to reducing its impact on the environment by practicing sound manufacturing processes and producing products with sustainable materials.
Richlite is the first company to offer hemp-based wortops, a visually unique surface alternative that’s produced from an exceptionally sustainable resource. Richlite’s hemp worktops are made with fast-growing abaca fibers purchased from the Philippines and Ecuador. Abaca is a type of plant noted for its fibers used in weaving. The fibers, commonly referred to as hemp, have been used in textiles for more than 6,000 years. Few textiles are as strong or as long lasting as hemp. Today more than 25,000 products, including monetary currency and now countertops are made with the fibers.
Richlite supports and contributes to a variety of local charitable organizations in the Puget Sound region. In particular, the company donates supplies to Habitat for Humanity and provides thousands of pounds of paper left over from the manufacturing process to the Tacoma school districts in Pierce County, Wash., for students to use in their art classes. Community giving is a core value of Richlite’s business mission.
