SIP Trunks

SIP Trunks provide a cost effective alternative to the traditional method (usually ISDN2 or ISDN30 circuits) for connecting site based telephony switches to the national and international phone network.

SIP is an industry standard protocol, which allows voice calls to be carried over an IP network and interconnect with the national and international phone networks in the same way as traditional telephony services. Many modern switches have the capability to connect directly to an IP network, using SIP Trunks, but legacy equipment can also be connected, through the use of a simple gateway or converter box.
