On 15 November 2008, Daragh Horgan will begin his adventure to one of the most inhospitable places on the planet, the South Pole.

As part of an international team of six, his attempt to ski from the coast of Antarctica to the geographic South Pole will see him dragging his supply sled across more than 900 kms of the coldest, highest, windiest, driest and iciest continent on earth!

This site aims to log his two-month journey, and also provide lots of information on Daragh’s motivation, training, and of course about the Antarctic and the logistics of the endeavour itself.

In addition to fulfilling a long-held ambition, Daragh’s goal is to raise money for the wonderful children’s medical research charity SPARKS. We very much hope that you will be inspired to support both Daragh and this fabulous cause via our donations link to Justgiving.
