Euronet Essentis Ltd, in various corporate guises, has been successfully delivering solutions to the card payments industry since 1986. Payment systems delivery teams have developed and integrated complex solutions for numerous high profile organisations, including ABN AMRO (Netherlands), Union Bank of Switzerland, Moneris Solutions (Canada), PKO Bank Polski (Poland), Nordea (Scandinavia) and Bank of China. These solutions have been delivered in a timely manner, with a proven project methodology and risk-averse approach.

Specialising in back-office card issuing and merchant management solutions, Euronet Essentis Ltd has a proven track record in delivering systems that are compliant with Visa and MasterCard requirements, responding rapidly to card scheme initiatives such as EMV, and maintaining regional compliance as regulations evolve.

Company History

In 1997, recognising the rapidly changing market requirements, Euronet Essentis Ltd (then Sema UK Ltd) embarked on a new initiative to design and develop the next generation of global card processing solutions: Essentis. This completely new development was designed to replace the CardLinK product (formerly known as CardPac), the leading global card management system of the 1990s, which we had successfully implemented at many customer sites throughout Europe and Asia.

The first release of Essentis Issuer has been available since July 2000, followed by Interchange and Acquirer. Essentis products have been installed at over 80 customers worldwide, including seven major European banks and processing institutions, a major North American processor and two of the top five Chinese banks.

Euronet

Euronet Essentis Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide.  Euronet acquired Essentis in January 2006 to add a world-class back-office payment system to its existing portfolio of software solutions. The acquisition of Essentis enables Euronet to use the combined strength of the customer base, market presence and resources of both companies to continue to sell Essentis to financial institutions for in house use and also to set up Essentis as a processing service for those financial institutions who wish to outsource their back office processing.
