Pet-ID UK Ltd, the pet microchip specialists, in association with Joydens Riding Club of Bexley have been granted a licence by DEFRA to issue horse passports.

• On receipt, the Passport Application Form and Silhouette, will be despatched to the purchaser.
• From 31st January 2004 owners can only self certify silhouettes if the horse /pony or donkey is also microchipped. If the horse/pony /or donkey is not microchipped then the silhouette has to be signed by a vet or a BHSI qualified person (a photocopy of an existing silhouette completed by the vet, is acceptable).

The Pet-ID/JRC Horse Register is open to all equine breeds.

NEWS UPDATE:  NEW DEADLINE FOR HORSE PASSPORTS

The revised deadline for horse passport applications to be submitted to passport issuing offices is 30th June, so that owners can be in receipt of the passports by 28th feb 2005.

Applications for horse passports must be submitted to Pet-ID by 30th June 2004 in order to meet the new revised deadline whereby owners must be in receipt of the passport by 28th feb 2005. Applications submitted after 31st July will not receive the previous offer by Pet-ID of the free microchip and registration.

Note veterinary certificates are not passports.
