One of England's most romantic gardens surrounding a 14th Century moated castle ruin. Azaleas and rhododendrons flower in abundance. Roses and clematis adorn the castle walls. Autumn colours merge the garden with the woodlands beyond.

16 acres of romantic gardens surround the 16th Century timber-framed wool smugglers cottage (not open to the public). Woodland walks with oak, elm, birch and beech trees. Rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias surround the sunken water gardens.
