KC Pest Control - Policy Sratement COSHH
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002
Introduction
The control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) regulations is probably the most significant piece of health and safety legislation to be published in Britain since the Health & Safety at Work Act in 1974. The overall aim is to bring about a long-term improvement in standards of occupational hygiene at all work places and so reduce the incidence of occupational disease.
The main objectives of the COSHH Regulations (as covered in HSC approved code of practice) are:
- To provide one set of regulations covering all work with substances hazardous to health in all work places, not just some substances in some work places.
- To set out broad principles of occupational hygiene to be followed.
