Each year the Trust hosts a ceremony at which our annual awards - the Preservationist of the Year, Young Preservationist of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Awards - are presented by our Patron, HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
Those who have received a financial restoration award are also invited to attend to receive a certificate.
The 2007 Awards produced some remarkable winners - individuals given truly deserved recognition for their unique contribution to the preservation of our transport heritage.
The Award Ceremony
In 2007, courtesy of the Brooklands Museum Trust, we were able to stage the awards ceremony at the famous Clubhouse at Brooklands, home of the World's first purpose-built motor racing circuit and the centre of production for Vickers, Hawker Siddeley and Sopwith.
Evocative atmosphere
On a gloriously sunny 11th July, seventy award recipients and guests soaked up the evocative atmosphere of the Bluebird Room and the Club Terrace, gazing over the evocative hangars and buildings that collectively represent so much of the history of British aero design and production, and motorsport.
Unsurpassable history
From the very first attempts to fly in Britain through an exceptionally varied cavalcade of aircraft, Brooklands has witnessed and realised a greater range of aeronautical technology than anywhere else in the world. And, for three decades, the famous racing track was the centre of British Motor Sport, its two and half mile circuit with its massive concrete bankings the very epitome of speed.

The Transport Trust
Preservationist of the
Year Award
Our premier award goes to a person who has achieved something exceptional in a particular year, but, in this case, one might argue that the period covered is closer to ten years.
