The Transport Trust is a charitable institution that aims to increase and channel support for transport preservation, acting as the hub of the transport preservation movement.
Membership of the Trust is open to private individuals and affiliated organisations that share our aims. To learn about the benefits of membership and how to join click here.
How we are run
The Trust is managed within a very streamlined structure, with the Board of Trustees representing the wider interests of the nation, for whose benefit the Trust exists, as a National Council. Our governance structure is set out in full here.
The Trust is fortunate to have as its Patron HRH Prince Michael of Kent, whose knowledge and passion about transport is widely respected.
Charitable status: the Trust is a registered charity, no 280943 on the English register. You can find published information about the Trust including annual returns and accounts on the Charity Commission website.
What we do
The Trust presents Awards each year to restoration projects that make a significant contribution to our transport heritage.
Under certain conditions the Trust also offers loans to Individual or Affiliate members. For details see the Contact Us page.
Another way we can promote the importance of heritage preservation is to work with others to make our collective voice heard more clearly and coherently. An excellent example is our partnership with other leading heritage organisations, Heritage Link.
