T.Cribb & SonsT.Cribb & Sons Funeral Directors, is a family-run partnership that was established in 1881 by Thomas Cribb. The key to the day-to-day running of the business is the care of the bereaved and attention to detail with an emphasis on tradition and traditional customs. It was this that led to the re-introduction of the Victorian horse-drawn hearse, which is now the 'Trade mark' of T.Cribb & Sons.
National Funeral MuseumT.Cribb & Sons have established the National Funeral Museum, and are in the process of constructing a purpose of constructing a purpose built museum to house the ever growing collection depicting funeral history.
The Museum is already closely linked to the European Federation of Funeral Museums.
John Harris MAJohn a partner of T.Cribb & Sons and the Museum graduated his course on 'Death in Society' in October 2000 Reading University and has over 25 Years of experience in the Funeral Profession.
Simon Bray - Project DirectorSimon Bray is an experienced consultant archaeologist with over fifteen years of practical archaeological experience. He studied Archaeology at Bournemouth University and since gained considerable experience of managing projects from the liasing with owners/developers, completion of risk assessments, managing the fieldwork and staff, through to the assimilation of the results into a comprehensive report.
During his career he has supervised Anglo-Bulgarian excavations in Northern Bulgaria on a large Roman city at Nicoloplis Ad Istrim and a Byzantine fort at Ditchin.
In the United Kingdom he has excavated a large Anglo-Saxon cemetery at Barrington, Cambridgeshire, a Romano-British Temple and Anglo-Saxon cemetery at Swaffham Prior, Cambridgeshire, and a Bronze-Age Causeway at Flag Fen, Peterborough.
Since 1998 he has been operating an independent archaeological consultency representing a range of clients from the Marquess of Northampton, Westbury Homes Ltd, Beezer Homes Partnership Ltd, to small independent builders.
