Favourite Gardens
Welcome to the High Summer and Autumn edition of 'Favourite
Gardens'. Make the most of our tips to find the best in autumnal shades and
get out into the countryside to enjoy a day soaking up the sun's rays in your
'Favourite Garden' in the South East.
In this edition find out about the UK's first ever World Garden
of Plants at Lullingstone Castle in Kent. And read about the magnificent example
of English landscaping at Stowe Landscape Gardens in Buckinghamshire, where
the great names of garden history all worked on the grounds, shaping "a
work to wonder at" which influenced garden design all over Europe.
Stay in 'garden friendly' accommodation whilst visiting South
East gardens and enjoy a short break or longer stay. These are hotels, guest-houses,
B&Bs and self catering cottages whose owners either share your love of
gardens and have attractive grounds of their own, or are particularly well-placed
to visit one of the South East's special gardens
Happy garden visiting - we're counting on seeing you here
very soon
