The Chelverton approach to investment management
within its specific arena is to operate as a specialised team. It is Chelvertons
belief and view that an experienced team can provide a more focused and
detailed comprehensive coverage.
DAVID
HORNER, aged 49, qualified as a chartered accountant in 1984 with
Touche Ross & Co before joining 3i Corporate Finance Limited in 1986
where he was a Manager giving corporate finance advice. In May 1993 he
joined Strand Partners Limited, and was appointed a director in January
1994, where he carried out a range of corporate finance assignments identifying,
structuring and managing investments in quoted and unquoted companies.
In October 1997 he left to set up Chelverton Asset Management Limited,
which specialises in managing portfolios of private companies and small
to medium-sized public companies. He was responsible for setting up Chelverton
Growth Trust PLC and, since May 1999, has managed the Small Companies
Dividend Trust PLC.
DAVID
TAYLOR, aged 48, joined in January 2006 and has over 22 years experience
of small companies investment analysis and portfolio management. He began
his career as an analyst in the research department at Wedd Durlacher
and moved into fund management in 1987 with the Merchant Navy Officers
Pension Fund, then joined Gartmore Investment Limited in 1991. During
this time, he ran a combination of institutional funds and investment
trusts, namely the Clydesdale Investment Trust PLC and London & Strathclyde
Trust PLC (now known as Gartmore Small Companies Trust PLC). In 1995,
he moved to LGT to manage small cap retail funds and latterly spent nearly
seven years as head of UK smaller companies at HSBC Asset Management.
WILLIAM
VAN HEESEWIJK, aged 49, joined in January 2005 as Director Business
Development to promote and develop the investor awareness of the Trusts
currently managed by Chelverton and to seek out other business opportunities
within the small companies sector. He began his career with Lloyds Bank
International Limited in 1981 working for both the merchant banking and investment
management arms. He has been involved in the investment trust industry
since 1987 having worked for Fidelity Investments International, Gartmore
Investment Management plc and BFS Investments plc. His experience includes
the marketing and sales of investment funds to both retail and institutional
clients, including new issues, rollovers and reconstructions following
an offer, and managing the corporate relationships with investment trust
Boards of Directors, stockbrokers, lawyers and Company Secretaries.
