Currently you have a flushing system based around a water filled trap which is designed to keep nasty smells at bay. There are a number of problems with this system, some of which you may recognise.

Flushing urinals require a great deal of water, usually around 20% of your entire water consumption. This is not only very costly but is also an unnecessary waste of a valuable resource.

The fundamental problem, however, is that uric acid reacts with the minerals in water to produce limescale build up.

This is the root cause of those unsavoury problems often associated with men's washrooms - blockages, flooding and bad odours.

On top of all this flushing systems are more costly to maintain, with re-piping, replacement of flush controls and emergency call outs.
