CDM Principal Designer Services

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 have introduced new responsibilities and duties for Clients, Designers and Contractors involved in construction projects. Mead Structures Ltd’s Chartered Engineers are happy to help by offering CDM Principal Designer services in accordance with the latest Regulations.

The Principal Designer’s main role is to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety in the pre-construction phase as well as help and advise the Client in bringing together pre-construction information, and provide the information designers and Contratcors need to carry out their duties.

To do so, we work with any other designers involved in the project to eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks to anyone affected by the work and, where that is not possible, take steps to reduce or control those risks.

This requires that we ensure that everyone involved in the pre-construction phase communicates and cooperates, coordinating their work wherever required and to liaise with the principal contractor, keeping them informed of any risks that need to be controlled during the construction phase.

Regardless of your knowledge of the CDM Regulations we will be happy to provide impartial advice on the subject.
