ICT
ICT plays an important, ever-increasing role in teaching and learning at Parkgate House School.
Our pupils use laptops, computer desks and interactive whiteboards within lessons across the curriculum.
At appropriate times, pupils are encouraged to research using search engines and also to use specially selected software. This helps keep lessons, enthralling, dynamic and up-to-date.
Working with a dedicated teacher, children develop a whole range of ICT skills and progress from simple tasks, such as how to correctly hold a computer mouse, to confidently using quite complex software and programmes. Pupils also learn how to touch type, an essential skill in today’s IT-driven world.
