Help At Home Scheme

The Help At Home Scheme is a new service based in Steyning, covering the whole of Horsham District, providing a domestic help service to older people. (Initially only available in Horsham town and around Steyning).

 

How to use the Service

There is an informal referral system. GPs, Social Workers and Carers etc. can contact the Co-ordinator directly.

Older people can contact the Co-ordinator directly.

Referrals are also be directed to the Scheme by the WSCC Social Services Help Desk.

 

What is Available?

The Scheme provides a range of practical domestic help including:

Each older person is entitled to up to two hours per week maximum. Help At Home Workers will visit between 9.00am and 5.30pm, weekdays only.

N.B. No personal care or physical assistance is available.

What will it cost?

There is a subsidised charge for all older people using the Scheme. A further reduction is available for those on Income Support.

All the Help At Home Workers are trained and have their references checked. The Scheme will ensure, wherever possible, that older people have the same regular worker.
