Dingemans Centre for Older People
Dingemans Court is a Sheltered Housing Scheme managed by Horsham District Council. Following local research and needs analysis, a multi-disciplinary Steering Group proposed the provision of non-traditional and multi-disciplinary day services from the development of a Centre for older people at the Scheme.
Funding was raised for conversion works and the provision of additional facilities. This new Centre serves the parishes of Steyning, Ashurst, Upper Beeding, Bramber, Wiston and part of Washington, opening two days a week for 15 people plus those using other services.
The Centre will provide for those assessed at low, medium and high levels of need. Opportunities are available for: health and physical care, educational and social activities, information and advice giving, food, drink and practical support.
To retain the innovative nature of the project, the development of the service will be in consultation with local older people and in line with the strategic thinking on development of services for older people.
