Fact File
Virgin Retail acquired the renowned Tower Records site at Piccadilly Circus and embarked on turning it into their flagship store. Kaymac were appointed and successfully completed this conversion over 12 weeks by working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The works involved major demolition and structural works to form a large atrium, which accommodated a new steel and timber staircase. A new lift installation was accompanied by the removal of the outdated escalators, and the whole store has undergone a complete services installation, with new flooring, ceilings and decoration throughout. The existing facades were retained and cleaned, but new shop fronts were installed. Kaymac also fitted out the new Virgin Mobile store within the Virgin Megastore as a variation to Contract Works.
