The Independent Post Company

The Independent Post Company has always been about talent. The initial idea behind the company was to take conventional attitudes towards television post production and drive a wedge through it. Back in 1992, the industry needed to think more about who was doing the edit rather than which machine needed to be booked. This simple premise gave birth to IPC.

Undeniably helped by the introduction of non-linear systems, IPC nevertheless contributed to the present day belief that the editor is the most important element of the post production process. Choosing the right person for the job is now seen as the key to a successful edit.

Back in 1992, Mykola Pawluk was probably the most in demand editor of cutting edge comedy. He still is. Simon Frodsham had a variety of experience in the management of entertainment and media companies. They met and formed a strong working relationship at TVi – at the time Europe’s biggest facility house - and then hit upon the germ of the idea that was to become IPC.

While Simon brokered deals with London’s top facility houses, Mykola decided which suite would suit each individual client’s edit. The formula worked well and the “virtual facility” house was born with an ever growing list of the cream of British comedy. Credits during that time included “Drop The Dead Donkey” “Mr Bean” “Rory Bremner” and “Whose Line Is it Anyway?”

By 1997, the time had come to expand so IPC became a fully fledged agency representing a gradually increasing roster of top editing talent.

We are now the largest editing agency in the UK and the calibre of the editors we are proud to represent is evident in our credit list.

The company that re-designed the post production template is now proud to be part of its establishment.

At IPC we have been plying our trade since 1992 so we would hope that we can cope with the twists and turns of top flight television
post production.

At the top of our list is our ability to find and nurture the finest editing talent in the UK. We only take on around one in five of editors who apply to join us and all are subject to a series of stringent processes to ensure that we only represent the very best.

Secondly, we are not in the numbers game so we never ever try to fob you off with anyone who just happens to be available. Our highly trained and motivated bookings team take great care in matching your job with the right editors. We are totally dedicated to ensuring you keep coming back to us and we know we’ll only achieve that by getting it right every time.

Transparency is another cornerstone of our operation. As we don’t charge our editors a commission, the rate you are quoted goes directly to the editor – in fact they will invoice you directly – so every transaction through us is completely free of uncertainties, delays or hidden charges.

If you find yourself up against it either in your schedule or your budget (and let’s face it, both are commonplace) the IPC bookings team is here to help. The office is wo/manned from 9am to 6pm five days a week. We have an out of hours service that caters for any emergencies.
