Having 3 children under 3 years old (including a pair of twins) I put on a
lot of weight and had given up hope of ever regaining my wedding
weight and the size I had been used to. I hated seeing myself in my
photos with the twins – I felt I spoiled the photo with my double chin
and puffy round face. My arms were flabby and my feet had got fat. I
even gave away some of my shoes because I couldn’t get into them any
more. Basically I was really uncomfortable with what I saw in the mirror.
It was no longer a matter of “Does my bum look big in these jeans?” I
couldn’t even pull them up over my knees in the first place! I resisted the
idea of buying new clothes whenever I could – I didn’t even want to try
them on if I could possibly help it. And when I really needed new clothes
I stuck to dreary colours and loose-fitting things. Anything which
wouldn’t draw attention to myself. I hadn’t been able to wear any of my
summer clothing for years. Even my engagement and wedding rings
didn’t fit me any more – it was quite depressing.
I heard about the Cambridge Diet through a family member who’d had a
lot of success with it. I contacted one of their counsellors through the
Cambridge Diet web site. He came to my house for a detailed, no-
obligation consultation, explained the Cambridge Diet to me, what I
needed to do, what it would involve and assured me of his continued
support throughout the Programme.
I started on the diet shortly after that. One thing that had concerned me
was whether or not there would be enough variety in the meals and if I
would actually like them. Luckily I really enjoyed them and there is a
very good selection of meals to choose from. I could also have the meals
in different forms. There are bars, shakes, soups and pre-mixed drinks. As
a result of this I found the Diet straightforward and easy to follow – the
meals are quick and easy to prepare. I was also surprised at how I didn’t
feel hungry at all and how tasty the meals are.
In the first week I lost weight and was really encouraged by this – not
only had I stopped putting on weight but I had reversed the slide and
was now losing weight! In just four weeks I was half way towards my
goal weight. It wasn’t long after before I hit my goal.
That Summer I was able to dig out some of my old summer clothes. Even
my husband noticed how well I was doing and kept commenting on my
wardrobe asking if I was wearing something new. The fact was, he
hadn’t seen it for several years and wasn’t used to seeing me in fitted
shirts and dresses/skirts. Friends of mine also noticed and told me how
great I was looking.
I’ve kept the weight off for a while now, and I know that this isn’t just
another faddy diet. So, I feel better, look better and am a lot happier and
more confident. I even like being in photos with my children now. And,
what’s more, I can wear fitted clothes!
If any of my history sounds familiar maybe you could benefit from the
Cambridge Diet too. If you would like to know more just email or call me
and we can talk about where you’re at now and where you’d like to be. I
look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
