About Martin Raymond - “a family steeped in racing history”

Over the last 20 years I’ve been heavily involved in various aspects of the lucrative horse racing industry. One of my most enjoyable roles was as a Jockeys Agent to some of the UK’s leading riders.

That role allowed me to make fortunes for my personal betting account (see enclosed for details). This however has come at a price. The Racing Authorities are placing increasingly ridiculous demands on genuine operators to fully disclose their betting sources and contacts.

The money I’ve made as an agent has been dwarfed by my personal betting gains. Given this I have decided to cease my work as an agent in a bid to maximise the potential available from my betting contacts.

Family History

My father is Bruce Raymond. Older clients may remember that he rode over 1000 winners in the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s including big race winner ‘Fair Crack’ who won the Goffs Million at The Curragh in 1991.

Bruce is now seen on the racetrack most days as he is the racing manager to some high profile Arab owners. My grandfather was the legendary trainer Willie Stephenson and many of you will be familiar with my cousin Willie Ryan who rode many winners most notably for Henry Cecil and of course he won the Derby in 1997 on ‘Benny the Dip’.

I, like my family before, operate from our base in Newmarket. In a day and age where communication is becoming more and more remote, I continue to benefit tremendously from having a physical presence in racing’s Headquarters.
