The most cost effective authentication software available today. Requires no hardware thus saving around 30% of IT budgets.
Mnemonica offers a totally new and unique form of Data Encryption and Authentication with anti-keylogging. Individuals and companies staff alike can now eliminate the need to memorise new and changing passwords through recall and replace it with recognition of familiar images.
The human brain finds it easier to recognise what is infront of it, particulary images, as opposed to recalling a random set of alphanumerics, especially when that is changed on a regular basis as a company security measure. Both random generated alphanumeric sets and especially regulary changing ones, put increased stress and strain on employees who then find they have to write down the password thus eliminating the security in one hit!
Mnemonica offers a new form of Authentication called MnemonicGuard which does not require regular changes as the level of security in this form is not breakable under conditions such as 'Dictionary attacks' as there are no alpha-numerics to crack.
This is a radically differant solution and you will not need to write it down in order to gain access to your data, and it will be very difficult to give to someone else, therefore offering a much higher level of security.
MnemonicGuard is an anti-keylogging logon application using a 'passkey' to authenticate the true owner of physical media and is also an integral component in the data encryption application 'CryptoMnemo'.

Passords - PINS - Passphrases all require recall from deep in memory. Mnemonic Image Based Recognition System requires users to recognise events from their life and are totally unique and personal. With Dynamic Key Creation and Destruction (CryptoMnemo), Anti-keylogging (no alphanumerics to send) and Anti-Brute Force Attack modules within the Mnemonic Image Based Recognition System is the strongest form of security in the world today!
Lets take a look at the Microsoft authentication offering from their website:
Create a strong, memorable password in 4 steps
One way to create a strong and memorable password is to come up with a "passphrase." Here's a way to create a passphrase-based password in four easy steps:
1. Think of a sentence that you can remember, such as "My son Aiden is three years older than my daughter Anna." This will be your passphrase.
2. Take the first letter of each word of the sentence to create a new word. Using the example above, you'd get: "msaityotmda".
3. Then mix it up by using a combination of upper and lowercase letters and numbers. Example: "MsAi3yotmdA"
4. Finally, substitute some special characters that look like letters, to make this password even stronger. These tricks finish the example password to read "M$8ni3y0tmd@".
If you're worried about remembering your passphrase, start with a common phrase as your passphrase, such as "You can't teach an old dog new tricks," then inject at least one number or symbol into the password. In this case, "yctaodnt" can become "YctaODnT", or even "U(t@0DnT".
The choice- 'WrtvF3UFIBN49d' or a unique passkey derived from life?
Mnemonic Image Based Recognition System will not only be simpler but you are not going to forget them either. In addition, because this does not require writing down, you will not need to change it regularly. In return this offers much less stress to the user.
Data encryption - CryptoMnemo
CryptoMnemo is the first encryption application where by the key self-destructs upon encryption and re-generates upon decryption, meaning that highly sensitive data can be transferred by flash drive, flash card, FTP or email without the worry of it being intercepted with a key and beign cracked, making CryptoMnemo the worlds most secure data encryption application.
You can choose (according to your companies security policy) between 4 and 14 images on a 4x4, 5x5, 6x6 or 8x8 grid and each offers differant levels of security applicable to differant situations. For personal use between 4 and 8 can suffice, however, companies would want typically between 8 and 14 to ensure the highest security.
The image above shows a typical grid screen with a mix of personal images mixed with generic images. The user will then pick a number of images, say 6, which will then be registered as the Passkey for use for access from now on. This passkey is totally unique and the user can use the same grid across a variety of hardware for encryption such as USB keys, PDA's and PC's.
Authentication - MnemonicGuard
MnemonicGuard uses the same grid type and principle but without the AES as there is no encryption. This is used to protect access on PC's, PDA's, Mobile Phones and Internet Sites /Payment Portals.
Mnemonic Image Based Recognition Systems are in use today in Banks, Telecomms and Access Control systems
Mnemonic Image Based Recognition System V Biometrics
The use of Biometric technology is growing and certainly has its uses, particulary in the area of admition to buildings and departments, however, fingerprint biometrics can be easily 'spoofed'.
User verification or personal verification is entirely different from user identification. There is no need to confirm whether the person to be identified is alive, conscious, unconscious, whereas it is imperative to confirm that the person to be verified is alive, conscious and willing to be verified.
If, in a democratic society, unconscious people should not be verified to vote even when they can be identified, then unconscious people should not be verified to be allowed to make an access to classified information. We are of the opinion that it is not wrong to use Biometrics for identification of individuals but it is wrong to use Biometrics for user verification.
Due to the inconsistancies and vulnerabilities of biometrics (even the dead can gain access) Mnemonics wins hands down!
Mnemonic Security can however be regarded as a type of brain biometric which is easier to use and takes less time to registe, however, if a fingerprint biometric is compromised one cannot grow another set of fingers.
To cater for the needs of the IT department there are Enterpise versions coming soon for both product ranges including Single Sign On.
These applications will benefit those with Dyslexia to aid and speed up their logon and security of data.
Mnemonic Image Based Recognition System V Tokens
In terms of cost this solution requires no additional hardware and is thus upto 30% less expensive than Biometrics which needs both a software and hardware element. Tokens also need not be bought or leased and is a much reduced cost and simplicity of operation.
Tokens require management and there are management companies set up to do so. Mnemonic security works and is not affected these conditions. Managing tokens include replacing tokens when they have Battery failure, when they malfuntion, they can be left behind and the IT dept has to send a replacement under secure conditions, they can be physically broken, washed and, worst of all, only authenticate the token not the user. A person can pass his token to a colleague and give him his PIN or password to gain access.
