Our Business The blue sea food company has been established, with funding from both DEFRA and Business Link, in order to provide the highest specification shellfish production facility capable of utilizing the finest shellfish landed along the South Devon coast. Our mission is to become amongst the most reliable shellfish processing facilities in Europe. Having been set up by Trevor, a crab fisherman of 25 years, we are dedicated to our suppliers. To ensure quality, sustainability and stability we have annual contracts with our fishermen at an above average fixed price. This provides fishermen with peace of mind and enables us to insist on strict environmental standards. Despite only beginning production in early August 2004 our processes are already up to EU food preparation standards and we are aiming to achieve BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards by early 2005. Our Manufacturing Director, Dawn Spencer, runs a tight ship and has one goal; to create a world class processing facility. We are proud of our factory and are committed to staying ahead of the competition with regard to quality, health and safety and the environment. Our advanced continuous cooking facilities enable us to produce perfect crabs every day and efficient operations ensures that we can deliver our crabs to you within 24 hours of them being lifted from the sea bed. As a new company we are conscious that we need to be better than our competition in terms of quality, flexibility and efficiency.
