Sir William Wells - Chairman
BA FRICS

Sir William is Chairman of the NHS Appointments Commission since 2001 and Chairman of the DoH Commercial Advisory Board since 2003 having been a non-executive in the NHS for over 35 years. He is Chairman of Council at the University of Surrey & Vice President of the Royal College of Nursing, a member of the General Council of the King's Fund. & a Trustee of the National Museum of Science and Industry. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He sits on a number of Private Sector boards including being Chairman of Covenant Healthcare Ltd.

 

Nigel Robertson - CEO

Nigel comes from a retailing background having joined Marks and Spencer from the RAF in 1981. Whilst at M+S he held a range of executive positions in the UK, Europe and 5 years based in New York. In 2000 he joined the small team setting up the revolutionary on-line grocery business Ocado which operates in partnership with Waitrose as Joint Managing Director. This was followed in 2004 by a move into the Private Equity world. Working with the entrepreneur Tim Waterstone and backed by DC Thomson and Rhone Capital, they formed Chelsea Stores Holdings Ltd which bought the international toy retailer Early Learning Centre, subsequently sold to Mothercare in June 2007. In July 2005 he joined Wm Morrison PLC as a Non-Executive Director.

 

Jonathan Mussellwhite - Non-Executive Director

Jonathan is a non-executive representative of the institutional shareholders. He is a Partner with Cognetas and has been active in the private equity market since 1994 after qualifying as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen. He has served on a number of boards.

 

Chris Jones - Non-Executive Director

Chris is as an experienced non-executive. He is currently also a director of Travelsphere a UK based tour operator, De Beers Louis Vuitton, Xenogen, FCN and Chairman of Results Consulting and SkyDoc Ltd. He is on the Board of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore and of Graham Windham, New York City's oldest and biggest childcare and fostering agency and is a Governor of St Edward's School, Oxford. His last executive role was until 2001 for J Walter Thompsom. Here he was CEO of J Walter Thompson in the UK, went on to become Executive Vice President, Worldwide Agency Operations and MD Multinational Accounts and then became President of the worldwide company and CEO Designate.


Harvey Ainley - CFO

After graduating from Manchester University, Harvey qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC working in both mainstream audit and corporate finance. In 1993 Harvey joined Asda and held a range of finance roles including business planning, capital investment and was also Group Financial Controller. Since leaving Asda, Harvey has worked for a number of different retailers in CFO positions including BT Cellnet, Allders, Dreams and Threshers.
