A visit to Newhaven Fort starts in the Guard Room. Here you will see the cells where punishment meant bread, water and solitary confinement.

Afterwards, take a seat in the theatre, watch a fast-moving 15 minute film -show in which the fort's designer, Major General Sir John Ardagh, explains about the building of the fort and its fascinating history through two world wars.
