NDSL is a specialist nuclear company which has been operating primarily in the decommissioning sector of the industry since its inception in 2001.

We have a highly experienced and motivated team with significant expertise in areas such as ventilation design and commissioning, decommissioning processes, alkali metal disposal, remote operations, radiological survey, safety documentation, waste management and hazardous materials handling.

Through our excellent working relationships with other engineering firms, NDSL's wider capability embraces all engineering disciplines, and encompasses the full project lifecycle: design, build, commission, and operation.

Earlier in 2009 NDSL as one of the most successful companies in Scotland, was approached by The Scotsman and asked if we would be interested in working with them to generate a short film covering NDSL’s business approach to decommissioning.

Since 2007 NDSL has been working under a number of Framework Agreements at Dounreay. The competitive tendering exercises for the frameworks that took place in early 2010 saw NDSL being successful in re-bids for the Professional Services Framework and the Provision of Decommissioning Operatives. As a consequence of successful mini competitions under these agreements our decommissioning operations team within the Fuel Cycle Area has grown to almost 50 operatives managed by a highly experienced Operations Manager.
