I was born in Beverly Hills, California, USA. My University training includes a B.A. Honours in Liberal and Applied Arts from The University of California; I was a Ford Foundation Scholar at The University of Arizona, and obtained a BSc. Honours in Psychology from City University in London.

However, an early and very influential lesson in making jewellery came when I was still at school. We journeyed to an American Indian Reservation in Arizona. Here, an old man spent several hours showing me various Native American techniques for making stone and silver beads. I still use those techniques in some of my most popular designs. (Heishi designs)

Because I have lived in Mexico, Africa, and the Middle East, some of my earlier work was strongly influenced by ethnic traditions. My jewellery is now much more influenced by my study of design at 'The Cass', (London Guildhall). I believe that jewellery should be not only attractive and innovative, but also comfortable, easy to wear, and long lasting in both design and quality. And I love the mix of metal and colours and movement that is possible with jewellery!

My latest group of designs include Allegra, with moving elements of semi-precious stones, gold, and silver, some playful 'optical-illusion' earrings, and some large 'Art-Deco' inspired torques, and a pendant and earrings - very sleek, smooth silver in a minimalist way.
