Headmaster's Welcome
As Headmaster, I am passionate about education and it is my privilege to oversee the learning of all of our pupils here at the school.
I am originally from Edinburgh and following my school years I attended Heriot Watt University, where I studied Mechanical Engineering. I then went on to take an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Glasgow University. Upon realising that teaching would be my chosen profession, I took my QTS at Gloucester University. I first arrived at Parkgate House School in 2001 and have thoroughly enjoyed all of my years teaching here. I am excited about the future for the school.
In these changing times it is important that pupils are offered a stimulating curriculum and innovative challenges. At Parkgate House that is exactly what we provide, so much so that our most recent Ofsted Report stated that, “The quality of education and the curriculum provided by Parkgate House School is outstanding for pupils of all ages”. Our pupils are incredibly enthusiastic about their learning and the opportunities we provide across the curriculum. As a result, by the time they leave us our pupils are confident and highly able.
I would be delighted to welcome you to the school either at an Open Day or for a school tour. I’m sure you will enjoy experiencing the warm, welcoming and nurturing atmosphere for yourselves. I feel what we offer as a school is best summarised by the following excerpt from our mission statement:
Develop Confidence – Provide Opportunity – Realise Potential – in every single child.
