About SFM Consulting
SFM Consulting is owned and operated by
Sarah Matthews, BSc (Hons) CDipAF MCIPD.
Sarah has amassed fifteen years experience at a senior/board level in business and operational management and HR – mostly in commercial healthcare sectors – retail optics (the well-known high street chain Specsavers Opticians), private & NHS dentistry (JD Hull & Associates – a dental body-corporate), private primary care and nurse-led NHS centre (General Medical Clinics PLC – a healthcare provider in the City of London).
The skills and experience gained from these commercial, clinical and retail settings are applicable to many businesses. These particular businesses had specific challenges that required operational and HR work to be carried out to the most exacting standards to meet commercial demands of stakeholders in a highly regulated environment. In addition, these businesses operated with a mix of challenges that will be familiar to non-clinical businesses namely:
- highly paid and demanding professionals
- diversity within workforce
- multi-site operation
- high investment in assets (optics and dentistry have costly treatment rooms so value needs to be driven from the investment)
