Why do I need to measure for Hand Arm Vibration (HAVS) ? |
|
Because I have a duty of care towards my employees. Because in some circumstances it is required by law–The Machinery (safety) Regulations 2009. Because disorders of the upper limbs caused by hand-transmitted vibration are among the most compensated industrial diseases in Europe.
|
|
How can I do this quickly and easily ?
The HAVPro Hand Arm & Whole Body Measurement device can ascertain the vibration properties of all your tooling and its associated Software can provide all the information required by law with data integrity tracking to maintain a database of each of your tools vibration characteristics.
The HAVPro can be operated by anyone with the simple Certificate of Competence Training provided.
Its associated software is simple and intuitive to use.

What can I do with this information to keep my employees safe ?
Armed with the vibration data from the HAVPro this can be programmed into the HAVMeter system where each operator logs out a HAVmeter at the beginning of each day utilizing a simple swipe card system and attaches it to any vibrating tool that they use. Their cumulative vibration dose is logged on the unit and displayed as the HSE’s points scoring system. The employee can easily see their cumulative daily dose and at the end of the day returns the HAVmeter to its docking station where their personal vibration data is downloaded and the unit charged ready for the next days use.
Data is stored on an SD Card in the HAVMeter Docking Station and can be downloaded at any time to the innovative ToolMinder software where full employee HAVS data can be stored and reviewed as required.
This system increases productivity as it negates the need for employees to complete paperwork for each job requiring the use of vibrating tools and gives the employee the confidence to keep working longer by knowing the exact vibration dose they have been subjected to during the course of the working day. It will also highlight problem tools which may be producing too much vibration and can be used as an integral part of your tool maintenance programme. |
