New Features In Detail
External File Viewer
The new External File Viewer screen displays all files
on a media that DARCC does not support internally. Double-clicking
an item in the list launches it in the associated Windows
application.
Zip & Hidden File
Flags
Files that are extracted from Zip archives during a
scan and files that have the hidden attribute set are
indicated by placing icons next to them. This feature
makes it easy to identify files that have been purposefully
hidden.
New Report Features
Option added to enable display of all files on a media
in the report.
Any files that are checked in the new External Files
screen appear on the final report.
Improvements
- File processing routines have been optimized so
that media files are processed over 8 times faster.
Example: on a 600Mhz PIII with 7,200 RPM EIDE-100
hard disk processing 26,000 image files in DARCC 1.0
took 3 minutes 48 seconds, it now takes 27 seconds
to perform the same task on the same machine.
- Three new file types are supported in the Text Viewer
screen - .INI, .ME and .README
- The number of files being processed are displayed
when processing large numbers of files.
- File sizes are displayed in the full report.
- All file viewer grids scroll their contents when
the scroll-bar is dragged.
- Keyboard tab order has been corrected on all database
screens in DARCC Admin, allowing for faster keyboard
based data-entry.
- Unknown EXEs are now sorted in alpha-numeric order,
making it consistent with the rest of DARCC.
- Client menu now sorted alpha-numerically.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed bug where only first item selected would be
copied to clipboard on most viewer screens.
- Fixed bug where unpredictable behavior would occur
if column headers were double-clicked.
- Fixed bug where sorting column data in the viewer
screens would launch an unselected item.
- Fixed bug where right-clicking on column headers
would display context menu and cause error.
- Fixed bug where left or right-clicking on the Unknown
Programs grid when zero programs found would cause
DARCC to crash.
- Fixed bug where first time C: drive was scanned
only program directory was examined.
